What’s the best Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee?

As all coffee fans know, Dunkin’ pretty much put iced coffee on the map. The Dunkin’ Donuts menu is continually pumping out new iced coffee flavors with pumps of hazelnut, French vanilla, caramel, toasted almond, blueberry, raspberry, and more.

Recently, Dunkin’ has been exploring cold brew options that make you think twice, sip twice, and wonder if something this good could really be coming from a coffee chain!

Have you ever felt intimidated when ordering an iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts?

A little dash of menu knowledge is all it takes to be cool when ordering something cold. Here are the best Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee ordering hacks to know about!

How to Order Iced Coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts

Something that most of us appreciate about Dunkin’ Donuts is that there’s nothing snooty about the ordering process.

If you’ve ever stumbled your way through differentiating between a “venti” and a “tall” while ordering a Starbucks iced coffee, you’ll appreciate the straightforward, non-pretentious sizing at Dunkin’ Donuts. In fact, anyone who has ever ordered a soft drink anywhere can breeze right through the process of how to order a Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee.

The sizes are:

  • Large (20 oz)
  • Medium (14 oz)
  • Small (10 oz)

There is also the Xtra-Large size (24 oz), but that’s only available for hot coffees.

Choosing the perfect size is a little bit of a science. Keep in mind that ice takes up a decent portion of the cup compared to a hot coffee. Factor that in when deciding how much coffee you’re in the mood to have.

However, iced coffee beverages from Dunkin’ Donuts tend to have slightly more caffeine than hot beverages as a way to even out the “ice cube” factor.

How Can You Customize Your Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee?

Dunkin’ gives customers tons of options for customizing iced coffee.

First, you can ask for either regular or decaf iced coffee.

The next big choice is milk.

Here’s a look at all of the milk options for iced coffee offered by Dunkin’ Donuts:

  • Cream
  • Whole milk
  • Skim milk
  • Almond milk
  • Coconut milk
  • Oat milk

Dunkin’ also offers flavored iced coffee. Your choice of milk has no bearing on your ability to order a flavored iced coffee.

Here’s a look at the current iced coffee flavors offered at Dunkin’ Donuts:

  • Peanut butter cup swirl
  • Pumpkin swirl
  • Caramel swirl
  • French vanilla swirl
  • Mocha swirl

These are actually the same flavors Dunkin’ offers for its hot coffees. Keep in mind that flavors may vary by season and location.

Lastly, you can technically ask for the person behind the counter to pump in any of the flavor shots offered by Dunkin’ when placing your order. The flavor shots are non-dairy, unsweetened, and sugar-free.

Here are the flavor shot options:

  • Vanilla
  • Hazelnut
  • Toasted
  • Almond
  • Blueberry
  • Raspberry
  • Coconut

So there really are a lot of options to choose from!

This is great but can also be a bit confusing. So check out my recommendations below to get started. Then later you can start experimenting and making your coffee more complex if you want.

Best Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffees to Order

It’s list time!

Several options on the Dunkin’ menu stand out as the best of the best when you’re in the mood for something cold. So take a look at the 6 best iced coffee drinks at Dunkin’ Donuts below.

1. Iced Coffee

Calories: 190 (Medium size with Cream & Sugar)

Caffeine: 267 mg (Medium size with Cream & Sugar)

The classic iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts still wears the crown as the go-to beverage when you want something cold and caffeinated.

It’s so easy to ask for this old favorite any way you want it. The classic “form” for iced coffee is cream and sugar.

However, if you are looking for a healthy drink from Dunkin’, skip the cream and sugar. A splash of coconut milk with a caramel or hazelnut flavor shot added to your iced coffee is a great way to satisfy a sweet tooth without piling on too many extra calories and sugar.

Want to try something new and special?

Ask for a Sunrise Batch coffee instead of a regular iced coffee.

2. Iced Latte

Calories: 270 (Medium size with Whole Milk & Sugar)

Caffeine: 166 mg (Medium size with Whole Milk & Sugar)

The iced latte is a cousin to the Dunkin’ iced coffee. While the taste is similar, the latte version offers a richer, more dessert-like experience.

Dunkin’ Donuts iced lattes contain milk blended with freshly ground, freshly brewed espresso. The latte is available in all of the flavors the iced coffee is available in. You can substitute your choice of milk.

Want to make it extra decadent? Add some mocha and caramel swirl!

The Iced Caramel Mocha Latte is definitely one of the best Caramel Drinks at Dunkin’ Donuts.

3. Mocha Iced Coffee

This one takes the list from coffee break to coffee treat. While this is technically just a specific flavor of the classic Dunkin’s iced coffee, the Dunkin’ mocha iced coffee is a standout choice because of its rich, decadent flavor.

The mocha flavor seems especially thick and sweet when you pair this option with cream or whole milk.

However, some people choose it because the stronger flavor allows them to enjoy sweetness without adding tons of extras.

4. Toasted French Vanilla

The Dunkin’ Donuts Toasted French vanilla iced coffee is a Dunkin’ secret menu item.

The toasted French vanilla drink is a nutty pleasure that few know about!

All you have to do is order a regular iced coffee with almond milk and one shot of French vanilla plus one shot of toasted almond.

5. Cold Brew

Calories: 90 (Medium size with Cream)

Caffeine: 234 mg (Medium size with Cream)

The Dunkin’ cold brew is by far the most artisan iced drink on the menu.

Dunkin’ makes its cold brew using 100% Arabica beans that have been steeped in cold water for 12 hours. This process extracts the maximum amount of flavor from the beans for a smooth, full-bodied flavor with natural hints of sweetness and chocolate.

I really like to have my cold brew with cream and no sweetener — it’s super refreshing!

And one nice thing is that cold brew coffee is less acidic which makes it easier on your stomach.

Be warned that you’ll need to show up earlier in the day to snag a cold brew most of the time. The small batches made daily at each Dunkin’ location are truly gone when they’re gone.

Dunkin’ recently released an out-of-this-world brown sugar cold brew to the menu that blends molasses, brown sugar, and cinnamon before being topped off with brown sugar cold foam with cinnamon sugar on top.

6. Pumpkin Spice Iced Signature Latte

The Dunkin’ iced signature latte collection is perfect when you’re in the mood to be “extra.”

These lattes are made with rich espresso and milk. The kicker is that they’re topped with whipped cream, drizzle, and toppings.

Note that these sweet and delicious drinks are loaded with calories — the medium size has over 400 if you choose whole milk!

Iced signature lattes from Dunkin’ are available in pumpkin spice, caramel craze, and cocoa mocha. My personal favorite is the Pumpkin Spice Iced Signature Latte with whole milk.

Final Thoughts on Ordering the Best Dunkin’ Iced Coffee

The truth is that it’s nearly impossible to find a Dunkin’ iced coffee you don’t like if you’re a fan of the iced coffee genre.

For most people, simply swapping a classic hot coffee for an iced coffee feels like a treat. However, you’re heading into luxury territory once you veer toward the iced lattes and cold brews.

While it’s true that you do lose some of the velvetiness of the Dunkin’ iced coffee experience once you start substituting milk and sweeteners in any of the Dunkin’ iced drinks, you’ll find that you have lots of freedom for dictating ingredients and calories.

Start with my recommendations here — and later experiment and have some fun!
