Nespresso’s range of coffee pods offers a diverse array of flavors to cater to every coffee aficionado’s palate. And these past couple of months, I’ve been testing their coffee pods on my new Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine.

My aim is to find out how each one of them fares in terms of flavor, intensity, and how strong is caffeine kick you get.

In this review, I’m going to share how the Nespresso Voltesso coffee pods stand out as a captivating option for those who seek a lighter yet vibrant coffee experience.

I hope you’ll vicariously enjoy every cup with me and that you will find this review useful!

What is Nespresso Voltesso?

As claimed by Nespresso, its Voltesso coffee variant may set the golden standard of coffee once you taste it. It’s an espresso coffee with a light and sweet taste and aroma that is biscuity, nutty, and balanced.

Voltesso Nespresso Vertuo Features

Brazilian Bourbon beans are blended with Colombian beans grown in high altitudes to create the unique taste profile of Voltesso.

The right way to savor Nespresso Voltesso is in a 1.35 oz (40 ml) espresso shot. Of course, you can also add some steamed milk to make it into a cappuccino.

To retain maximum aroma and freshness, aluminum capsules are used for packing this coffee. Each capsule contains 5.2 grams of roasted and ground coffee.

Nespresso Voltesso Flavor Profile

The Nespresso Voltesso coffee pods bring forth a light, sweet, and vibrant flavor profile that sets them apart from the crowd. These pods offer a distinct emphasis on softness and delicate flavors.

The light-roasted Colombian coffee beans lend a slight acidity to add some spark while the Brazilian Bourbon beans are roasted for a longer time to give the coffee a delicately sweet and biscuity taste. The result is a perfectly balanced espresso shot with a nutty and biscuity flavor.

Add a swirl of milk to make your coffee smoother and more velvety.

Nespresso Voltesso Caffeine Content

A shot of espresso made with a Voltesso capsule has about 64 milligrams of caffeine. This is much less than in most Nespresso coffee capsules and only about half of what a regular 8–ounce cup of coffee contains.

It was a late Sunday afternoon when I tasted Nespresso Voltesso for the first time. I was just at home listening to some music with a friend and we decided it was time for coffee.

Both of us enjoyed the taste of Voltesso coffee and the amount of caffeine was just right for the situation. Enough to boost our energy levels and keep us talking late in the evening, but not too much to give that jittery feeling.

Nespresso Voltesso Features

Die-hard fans of bold Italian espresso may not take to Nespresso Voltesso straight away. But if you’re someone trying to step up from normal coffee to espresso, this could be up your alley.

Why?

Let’s take a closer look at the features and deconstruct Nespresso Voltesso to see if it is the right choice for you.

Origin

The Voltesso blend draws its beans from a blend of high-quality, carefully sourced Arabica beans originating from South America.

This blend’s origin contributes to its unique flavor dynamics, creating a coffee that captures the essence of the region.

The Colombian beans from the highlands have a low acidity that rounds off the sweet, biscuity flavor profile of the Brazilian Bourbon beans. These beans combine to create music in your espresso cup.

Bitterness

A low bitter profile of the Nespresso Voltesso – 2 on a scale of 5 – makes this blend an ideal choice for coffee enthusiasts who prefer a mild coffee experience.

It strikes a delicate balance between bitterness and acidity, aligning well with its light roast profile. The bitterness is subdued and harmonious, adding depth without overwhelming the cup.

Acidity

The acidity level of Nespresso Voltesso is low at 2 on a scale of 5.

It’s crisp and refreshing, creating a lively dance of flavors on the palate without being too tart or sharp.

Roast Level

Nespresso Voltesso boasts a light roast of 2 on a scale of 5.

This is a testament to the brand’s ability to coax out the coffee beans’ subtleties while retaining their unique characteristics.

The light roast level of the Colombian beans ensures that their inherent nuances are highlighted and adds just a dash of acidity.

The Brazilian Bourbon beans are long-roasted to bring out the best of the biscuit and sweet notes. Together, these beans create a coffee that’s layered with complexity yet it’s remarkably approachable.

Body

In terms of body, the Voltesso coffee offers a lighter experience and scores 2 out of 5 on the body scale.

The blend is characterized by a silky and smooth texture that glides over the palate.

This lighter body adds to the coffee’s overall elegance, allowing the flavors to be showcased without overwhelming the senses.

Intensity

As for intensity, the Voltesso blend leans toward the milder end of the spectrum – 4 on a scale of 13.

This indicates that the coffee blend is sweet with a light body, more flavor, and a bright touch. It’s a coffee that caters to those who enjoy a softer, more nuanced cup that still delivers a satisfying flavor experience.

Finish

The finish of the Voltesso coffee is remarkably clean and refreshing.

The light roast and delicate flavors contribute to a finish that lingers gently, leaving behind a subtle sweetness that’s both invigorating and pleasant.

This finish invites you to savor the coffee’s aftertaste and contemplate the intricacies of its flavor profile.

Portion Size

Appreciate the nuanced flavors of the Voltesso blend in a shorter shot or espresso-style portion size – 1.35 oz (40 ml) espresso shot.

This espresso shot size offers a perfect balance between flavor concentration and the coffee’s inherent brightness, allowing you to bask in the compact but delicate flavors.

Price

You can buy a sleeve of 10 Nespresso Veltosso coffee pods at a price of $9.80.

Or, order from Amazon a pack of 5 sleeves with 50 pods for a similar prize.

However, the price may vary according to the country.

Nespresso Voltesso Review Conclusion

Nespresso Voltesso is a coffee that embodies brightness and elegance, making it an excellent choice for those who prefer a milder yet engaging cup of coffee.

It offers a captivating journey through a lighter but remarkably flavorful coffee profile. Its emphasis on softness, delicate sweetness, and balanced bitterness and acidity create an elegant cup.
